PROVOKING ONE ANOTHER TO LOVE AND GOOD WORKS
MASTER'S HOUSE NIGERIA
In 2009, Boston University Center for Global Health and Development (in collaboration with Initiative for Integrated Community Welfare in Nigeria) released a study showing that 10% of children in Nigeria are orphaned. The study also ranked Akwa Ibom state as being second in prevalence of orphans.
MCCF MASTER'S HOUSE ORPHANAGE IN NIGERIA
The Master’s House will be located in Uyo, Akwa Ibom. This will be a place where children will be loved, sheltered, fed, clothed and provided with health care. Beyond these, children at the Master’s Home will be cared for by people who see caregiving as an act of love and obedience to Jesus Christ, and not simply a job that affords them an income. The cost of building the Masters House is $200,000 (All donations are tax deductible).
HERE IS WHAT HAS BEEN COMPLETED SO FAR
In February of 2011, MCCF became an official 5013C foundation, selected a US board and appointed a Nigerian board. Following, an architect was hired to draw up the building plans, the property was acquired and then cleared. A well was then added to provide running water for the orphanage, including showers and flushing toilets. Roadwork had to be done to access the property, and fencing had to be added to the perimeter. The next step was to build the foundation for the building and add ground floor decking. Lastly, a storage and security building was built on-site.
